Respite Units Now Open

The Glenn Moore Respite Units were officially opened on the 27th of February by Peter Roche, CEO Motor Accidents Insurance Board.

The Official opening was well attended by ParaQuad Tasmania members, policiticians and members of the public.

The units' objective is to provide accessible self-contained accommodation for people with disabilities.

Features of the units:

• Two spacious units - each have 2 large bedrooms 

• Main bedrooms have one queen size adjustable bed and second bedrooms have two king size single beds

• The units are fully self-contained with large open living area, accessible kitchen, low level cupboards and easy access bathroom

• Ceiling hoist in one unit – portable hoist available (if required) for either unit

• Accommodation caters for up to 6 people utilising the sofa bed in the living area

• Weekly or daily rates available

• Smoke free environment

• Undercover parking

• Level access

• Close to transport and Glenorchy Shopping Centre and 15 minutes (by vehicle) from Hobart

• Built to Australian Standards

Eligibility:

To be eligible to rent a unit individuals are required to:

• Have a spinal cord injury or physical disability

• Under 18 to be accompanied by parent/guardian

• Arrange all their personal support and required care
