Well done to David Wood, who has won the MAIB Disability Achievement Awardpart of the 2023 Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards. The winners were announced on Friday 13 October 2023 at a dinner presentation event in Hobart.

The Disability Achievement Award recognises people living with a disability who are actively influencing and contributing to the community as well as achieving their personal goals. Despite personal challenges, this award recognises people actively involved in areas including sport, art, study, community services and/or education.

David, who is ParaQuad Tasmania’s Wheelchair Rugby Coach, is also a motivational speaker and described during the Awards as being a ‘role model, with an indomitable spirit, who has a passion for inspiring positive change.’

ParaQuad CEO Carmel Clark says, “David Wood epitomises what we all strive to achieve for the Spinal Cord Injury community. This award is well deserved, and we send him our biggest congratulations on winning the 2023 MAIB Disability Achievement Award.
